Wright :USA with 2 misses, ends up 7th, only 44 secs behind.  Hopefully he can shoot a little cleaner in the future.  Good work!

Got post 2 updated with all the results from the weekend.

Two pages of bitching about :ITA biathlon and Giacomel will get a win

Yesterday he finished 15th and was slow timong in cross country, so it was hard to praise him. He still miss of stability, although he very like route in  Anterselva, so I'm still hope on his dominance there. Hopefully. Now, there isn`t a some monsters,  as Fourcade, or J. Boe, or Bjoerndalen, etc, and many people have a chance to win gold.

Too bad, but will still be a PB and probably Olympic selection.

For today, I'd take: Vittozzi, Wierer, Passler, Carrara (she runs well, which is important), and someone from the 2: Comola/Auchentaller. If Auchentaller could improve her form even a little, I'd go for her more, as she comes from the Antreselva region and knows the slopes well. Comola is a safety option for the relay, but unfortunately, her skiing will never reach the level of the top 30-40.

  • 3 weeks later...

Tomorrow both men and women sprints will take place, due bad weather forecasts for Friday.

Interesting notes, in mens race first biathlete on start list will race with bib 2, as number 1 will be reserved for Bakken who passed away at the end of the year. Also minute of silence just before the start is planned.

While in womens race we will see :IOC Dolidovich, for who it will be World Cup debut and debut of an refugee athlete

Haven't seen so much snow in Oberhof in ages :d An anomaly indeed. But Giacomel keeps the form and is shaping up to be amongst the big players at the OG. ;)

Giacomel has always had a great results at Antholz, so with this form, he can dominate there, and maybe Italy will finally have a hero, like France once had Fourcade, or more recently Marchand. I have dreamed of this all my life. And I think that we actually deserved it, that we have to spend so much money on host these current Olympics and only listen to some mockery from the journalist from the UK or the USA:wall:

Thanks to the stupid national federation rule (Top 30 in IBU Cup automatically means a place in the next World Cup event) the mighty Andrzej Nędza-Kubiniec will be in Ruhpolding (he finished 17th in Arber Individual albeit 3,5 minutes behind the winner). Also Wojciech Skorusa finished 25th so that means he also gets a WCup spot. Yikes.
