🇳🇱 no Dutch-Americans (anymore), but a significant element of players from what was formerly the Netherlands Antilles, and are now several separate entities. These players have a Dutch passport, since these entities are all part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. As I wrote on another thread, their inclusion in our Baseball team is the reason that team self-identifies as The Kingdom Of The Netherlands and not simply The Netherlands.

yeah, I know (even if for WBC I guess they could name a few Dutch-Americans, too -always if they want to try and match the past results of the early editions)

Phelps misled me a bit when he wrote that the Italian team would be so weak here, but we are a very good level. Based on his posts, I thought we will lose to France in the round of 16...

Is it a tradition to pour buckets of water on players after a win? I have seen the same thing in softball.

it's the level of this tournament that's so poor that even a team like this can make the final :p

losing to France...it was almost happening

It looks like the final will be against the Netherlands. BTW, Phelps is probably celebrating with alcohol today win:lol:

no way, I only follow MLB, NPB and KBO (LIDOM is just a Winter's pastime)

I don't care about international baseball (except for WBC), as you never see the top players

Looking at Instagram, Cervelli has created a good atmosphere in this team – I can see the flow, everyone is one family, etc. Maybe this is the reason for this success, since there are no great individuals?
