It was on 1997/1998 season? I`m a 38 years old and I remember that time. My first watched match in my life was the 1994 World Cup final: Bra-Ita, but I didn't know much about it too much :P. My first conscious tournament was the 1995/1996 Champions League and Euro 96: btw, back then Slovaks were rooting for the great Czech team? (I remember that the Czechs had such funny hairstyles, e.g. Nedved, Poborsky, etc.)

Most of the time yes :p it was just 3 years after the separation, people tended to be still czechoslovaks

Unfortunately, I don't remember that time:P In 1996 Italy was eliminated in the group stage by the Czech Republic and Germany and I started rooting for the Czechs. It's a shame about the final against Germany, because it was 1-0 to the Czech Republic and then that Golden Goal :( It's good that rule is gone.

The Euro 2000 final: Italy-France, however, was still haunting me for many months afterward. The trauma was terrible :( It's good that it happened at the beginning of the summer holidays, because I wouldn't have been able to go to school normally after that. After three months, I somehow recovered. Another trauma for me was the 2005 Champions League final: Milan-Liverpool... Generally, I'd rather lose the final to someone 0-5, like Inter did recently, than after such emotional matches as in 2000 and 2005.

Ah the lovely trauma from sport... Never ever want to feel that emptiness I had the morning we lost that Vancouver 2010 bronze medal game in my life. I was literally broken like everyone I met that day
