very slow start for :ITA

only Gabriele Rossetti is in the 1st chasing group among the men, all the other shooters (women included) look already out of contention :hairpull:

in the men's Skeet, the last round of the qualification stage is underway

so far, :EGY Azmy Mehelba and :DEN Emil Kjeldgaard Petersen lead the pack with 123/125 targets and look almost safe in the final (but it's not mathematical yet)

:USA Vincent Hancock has yet to start the last series, but he will do it from a comfortable lead (he was the only man with 99/100 after day #2)

and finally, there's a big group (up to 16 shooters) already at / or with the potential to reach 122/125 targets

there's a high risk of a gigantic shoot-off for a few places in the final

    • I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow.   Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least.   I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow.   Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.
