Spain:yikes:But where is Italy?

:ITA lost early against :USA in the mixed pairs, against :ESP in the men's team event (when we were the no.3 seed, after the best ranking round for years ) and finally, the girls lost to :KOR in the quarterfinals (our usual bad luck, finishing 8th when a few more points would have kept us in the other side of the draw :dunno:)

our last chance is Matteo Borsani (who beat Mauro Nespoli in the round of 32...again, bad luck with the draw), who's still in competition in the men's individual (but he likely has to face Brady Ellison in his quarterfinal, if he wins the earlier match in the round of 16)

This sport isn`t looking good in last time, why?

we can't be at the top of all the sports!

it's a cycle...we are competitive, but not enough to win a lot of medals

it's not that we haven't won anything for years, the last 2 or 3 have been worse than the past...it happens...they just have to work to improve for the future

Tokio was good for us: 2 ind. medals, later we have a bronze in mixed team on 2023 World Champ but from last year we can`t win any medals, even bronze.

I wish World Archery had better free coverage....they hardly put things on YouTube, even highlights. Looking at their YT channel, you'd hardly know there was a WCH happening.

There are a few short clips of the winning moments on Facebook, but that's about it.

I get the feeling this is going from bad to worse with many sports. I mean, archery isn’t going anywhere here if we are forced to pay a subscription to watch the worlds and have nothing else to go off.

I mean, it is a fun sport, but to me not fun enough to pay 10 euro’s to watch this tourney.

Netherlands is not looking good now in recurve anyway, coverage or no coverage. Our women aren't making a step forward while on the men's side it is basically over and done with. I don't know who is going to take P4 for us in LA then, because that was a recurring theme.

At least compound is there.

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
    • and Artistic Gymnastics is "Sporting Gymnastics" while Rythmic Gymnastics is god know why "Modern Gymnastics"
    • and a brief look to Cortina village
    • We call it beauty skating, if we're using the literal translation.
    • Our delegation are a bit surprised there no chairs nor tables in the rooms though  You not use tables in Italy ?
