Yes but favourites don't mean anything in short track, just look at what happened with Dandjinou 

 

Fontana is doing good on this ice, almost have her joint favourite

Sighel somehow didn't cause carnage in the last two laps and it's China who misses out.

I've been very critical of Sighel, but he pulled off something miraculous here

Of course China and Hungary had to finish 3rd and 4th.

Italy's tactics were completely off anyway, and I think we went with something we never even tried during the season. We'll have to change things completely in the final.
