Deserved win for :ITA   (Double for Cristiana Girelli)

Cristiana Girelli  (player of the match) at 35 years and 84 days became the oldest player to score two goals in a Women's EURO finals match and the first player to score more than one goal for Italy in a Women's EURO finals knockout game.

Cogratulations at all team and at coach Soncin.

He's third in the all-time scoring players for the Italian national team with 54 goals, behind Vignotto and Morace – both of whom have almost 100 goals, so there's no chance of overtaking them. It's also difficult to compare the current era with 30- 40 years ago, when this sport was completely amateur and scoring goals was easier.

Okay, France stopped fooling around and scored three goals in the second half.

Dutch team was too old some time ago already and after Martens retired from NT last year now the old guard is getting clowned.

Martens was MIA since 2021 anyway. The problems are different, ranging from Roord not defending to some defenders not suitable for the tasks, and from the team being too old in some spots to a right between these experienced players and the coach.

Jeez, 2-0, I blinked twice by accident, and it was 2-2.

Immediately After swapping out two of the most experienced players. That is also how we lost the olympic final in Tokyo

    • It's close between Mexico and Venezuela. Mexico probably has the better pitching but I think Venezuela is far superior when it comes to star power. They have pretty much all their top guys on offense besides Altuve.   I did accidentally forget Cuba. Call me crazy but I'm placing them 7th behind Panama. Panama is my dark horse team for the tournament and Cuba isn't looking too pretty these days to be honest especially on offense although Canada, Panama and Cuba are all probably roughly in the same tier. Maybe Puerto Rico as well since they're missing their 3 best players on offense.

    • poir Madsen had a very unlucky debut at the CWC he seriously injured himself (dislocated shoulder and possible concussion) in an attempt to save a boundary in the very early stages of Today' match vs Scotland   moreover, Italy lost badly against the Scots, allowing them to score 207 runs in the 1st innings (it took 14 overs to get the 1st wicket) and going well short chasing that score (we immediately saw that today wasn't the day when our lead batsman went out at the very 1st ball thanks to an amazing but improbable catch by a Scottish fielder)   in all this, a couple of highlights to be recorded: Hasan Ali with a very efficient bowling performance (5.25 economy, 1 wicket) and Harry Manenti with good 52 runs in just over 30 balls with the bat
    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
