The Taekwondo ranking is over a 2 years period, right? So for the Olympic qualificatin rankings, they will count all the events between January 2026 and December 2027?

 

If that's the case, the qualification period has already started..Even though I see there are no events scheduled for January 2026.

the ranking lasts for 24 months but unlike all other sports they reset the ranking in June of even years, 2026, 2026 etc.

 

 

current scores will be deleted on June 2026 and they start a new ranking from zero.

so for the Olympic qualification, results from 1 June 2026 until 1 January 2028 will be counted. a period of 19 months

Olympic quotas are assigned based on the ranking of December 31, 2027. Seeds for the Angeles are based on the ranking of May 31, 2028.

I can’t believe that the first Grand Prix in Rome and European Presidents Cup are schedulde for same weekend in June.

Most people know taekwondo from watching the Olympics. However, only sparring is recognized in the Games - poomsae (forms) is completely left out. It's time for the Olympic program to acknowledge poomsae and give taekwondo's artistic discipline the recognition it deserves.
