Yes, but all the medley components qualified anyway so I imagine they will swim it. They also mistakenly announced that the 4x100 qualified so We’ll see what they do.

They corrected that afterwards. Freya Anderson ahd to be told she hadn’t qualified the 4x100 but had qualified the mixed.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if they didn't enter a medley team, especially where it comes in the program. By that stage it isn't like any of the likely swimmers will have another event to prioritise, unless Evans decides to do the 50 (which she didn't even take part in this week.

Shame about the mix up for the 4x100 free, although I wouldn't be surprised if that team goes (although whether they will take Taylor is more debateable). You'll have Okaro, Anderson, Colbert there anyway, along with Wood and Hope. If they don't enter it, you have to imagine it is because of workload issues more than anything else.

The mixed free relay is the only one that you would say is really doubtful, especially not being an Olympic event. But even then you've probably got enough swimmers there to field a team if they want to.

:ITA Thomas Ceccon withdrew from the 50m fly final at the Australian Open Champs :bones: but then he swam a very convincing 1.55.71 to win the 200m back, time that's also his PB and a new Italian record :cheer:

Did you get the stream to work?

yes, almost perfectly (well, with a couple of blocks here and there, but still, more than OK, especially if compared to 7plus)

not a good morning for Ceccon at the AUS Open Champs

he withdrew from the 50m back and swam only the 200m freestyle, where he was only 9th with a disappointing 1.49.7 (he has a PB of 1.46) :nopompom:

He cruised the 200 free presumably because it doesn't really matter if he makes the A or B final. He'll be much faster in the final.

I'm sure of that, but still I don't like his attitude in the heats/semis...he never gives more than the bare minimum and he's always at risk of being eliminated (it happened more than once in his career, also at the Olympics, when this tactic cost him the 200m back final, 'cause I'm sure he had a lot more than 1.56 in his arms and legs that day)

Today, :ITA Thomas Ceccon pulled out from his beloved 100m back and surprisingly decided to swim the 100m fly

and he won the race in a good, but not exceptional 51.26 (PB, in any case) ahead of Matthew Temple (51.51 for the Australian record holder)
