Women's foil dominated 10-15 years ago with Vezzali. Unfortunately, the USA is now better.

I don't think they are better except for Kiefer, but they have performed better in major tournaments recently. That would be a fun discussion in the fencing thread.

 

Going back to athletics, 6 medals is a very good result for Italy. I would prefer 6 medals with 1 gold rather than 2 golds of the same athlete.
