While I still want Canada to qualify, I wouldn't be too upset if Venezuela got the spot. IMO they've been the second best Pan American nation behind the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately they got Japan. Though given their play, the match is still in play.

EARNED RUNS are runs that are scored that aren't the result of a fielding error. Canada has allowed 3 fewer earned runs than Puerto Rico.

 

So for example, if a runner gets on base because a shortstop misses a throw to first base and then that runner scores, then that's counted as an UNEARNED run.

For  Canada to earn the Olympic quota, they need Japan to win and score 3 or more runs.

 

Otherwise  Venezuela gets the quota.

But I think the first tie breaker is total runs. It just goes to earned runs because total runs are tied between Canada and PR.
