One thing that i cant understand is why the teams which already have qualified they are also taking part. Their results can impact other teams classification

I really dont understand why the FIBA did that.. just dont count the champions for the QT. No reason to have the already qualified teams hog up the space

I read somewhere that it's because women's teams hardly ever play, so it's an opportunity for the already qualified teams to play friendlies against teams from outside the continent. It was probably just a theory. How much sense does that make? I don't know...

I'm assuming that the teams that already qualified are just competing now for experience?

Exactly!!!

Most teams have their actual Berlin roster.

They could also host a 5 team tournament among the already qualified nations.

Also the state of women's basketball in our continent outside of the United States is horrible.

Puerto Rico may be the only other nation qualifying and that's because they are in a very easy group

So now Canada's hopes of qualifying is on the qualifying tournaments? How likely is qualifying?

looking at the qualifying document it says that 2 teams from the Americas qualify at the World Cup. But with only Puerto Rico having a chance at qualifying what would happen to the other Americas quota?

Edit:  nevermind I was looking at the wrong area lol
