George_D 1,205 Posted July 11 #12 Share Posted July 11 Quote Each contestant has a fixed amount of points for his or her distribution. Each constestant will have 10x12, 10x11, 10x10, 10x9, 10x8, 10x7, 10x6, 10x5, 10x4, 10x3, 10x2 and 10x1 to distribute over for the 120 questions. Overwrite the "X" with a number between 1 and 12. Those will be the points you distribute for a specific bet. If you win a bet, you will win the amount of points you gave for that bet. You can't leave out a bet. All bets must be given minimum 1 point. 12 points per bet are the maximum. Choose wisely how you will distribute your points. so why someone not to use 12 (the max) for all questions?? George_D 1,205 Posted July 11 #15 Share Posted July 11 (edited) In the following questions i noticed that the word "win" is probably missing in "will medal" phrase: General (15) 2 - At least six south american nations will medal. [YES/NO - X] 5 - At least two of these NOCs (which haven't won a medal since Sydney 2000 or before) will medal again in Paris 2024: Barbados, Costa Rica, Guyana, Haiti, Iraq, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mozambique, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Tanzania, Tonga, Uruguay, US Virgin Islands, Zambia. [YES/NO - X] Gymnastics - Artistic (3) 75 - At least two NOCs will their first Olympic medal. I don't know if that's an actual thing in english language but I've seen it being used like that on this forum before so George_D
George_D 1,205 Posted July 11 #18 Share Posted July 11 some clarifications n the following questions: Quote General (15) 1 - Pacific Island nations in Oceania (including New Zealand, not Australia) will win more medals than Caribbean nations. [YES/NO - X] with "Caribbean nations" we mean obviously and the big ones also, Cuba, Jamaica etc? Quote Aquatics - Synchronized Swimming (1) 26 - At least one NOC will win its first Olympic medal. [YES/NO - X] Quote Gymnastics - Artistic (3) 75 - At least two NOCs will win their first Olympic medal. [YES/NO - X] if i get it right, both questions mean: will win first Olympic medal ever in the specific event?? Quote Fencing (3) 69 - Either France, Hungary, Italy or fencers from these NOCs will be presented at every podium. [YES/NO - X] Question means that every podium will be achieved by FRA, HUN, ITA teams / individual fencers 1. at least by one of these NOCs or 2. from all these NOC together
Wumo 3,001 Posted July 11 Author #19 Share Posted July 11 20 minutes ago, George_D said: with "Caribbean nations" we mean obviously and the big ones also, Cuba, Jamaica etc? Correct. Every recognised NOC who is an island nation/country in the Caribbean ocean. So a nation/country like Belize isn't included here. 23 minutes ago, George_D said: if I get it right, both questions mean: will win first Olympic medal ever in the specific event?? In the specific sports, yes. 24 minutes ago, George_D said: Question means that every podium will be achieved by FRA, HUN, ITA teams / individual fencers 1. at least by one of these NOCs or 2. from all these NOC together Number 1 is the correct interpretation. Example: Spoiler Criteria for "Yes": Men's Epee: HUN, KOR, FRA Men's Foil: FRA, ITA, USA Men's Sabre: ITA, JPN, IRN etc... Criteria for "No" Men's Epee: HUN, KOR, FRA Men's Foil: FRA, ITA, USA Men's Sabre USA, JPN, IRN (None of the mentioned NOCs are on the podium. So the answer to the question would be "No".
