Some of the Lulu Sun's forehands were just amazing! Great play! If Vekic gets nervous, Sun definitely has her chance for the SF!

Gauff lost to Navarro

The moment Gauff doesn't face some ITF randomer or players ranked in Top 30 she loses. I don't consider this result a major shock. Emma Navarro is on the way up and she could be Top 10 sooner than anyone thinks. Hell, nobody expected her to break into Top 20.

 

Either way the women's bottom half QF are set:

Her mother is Chinese. Her father is Croatian. She was born in Switzerland and represented that country until March 2024 before switching to New Zealand (probably to have a better chance of making the Olympics). One of the rare instances when a rich Western country actually loses an athlete (don't ask @hckošiceabout Hingisova and Bencicova here ).
