Judo at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Recommended Posts

I’ve never seen this kind of behavior on the Judo mat. You accept the decision by the referee, whether you agree with it or not. You most certainly are not in the referee’s face, and touch him.

She was starting most of the attacks and Tsunoda had one lucky escape while being passive herself. To give shido in Olympic semi-final for the Swede was massive bullshit but guess glass has to be always full for Japan in judo. A complete and utter joke.

It wasn't a shido for passivity tho? It was for breaking grip. World feed comentators caught it immediatly (before the shido was given).

Call was harsh but not incorrect. Behaviour afterwards should lead to DQ and thus W/O for whoever faces her in bronze medal match in my view. Bad example otherwise.

I'm using some Italian commentary. The breaking grip was one action before and she basically slipped?

This was absurd. But on the other hand judges want end everything very quickly...

Yes I agree also that should be DSQ - judo has different convention.

Scutto's elimination is one of today's biggest disappointments, for Italy is not doing well in any sport...

Now, now, it's far from perfect, but it isn't that grim, a 1/2 in fencing, the men's volley team beat Brazil, Ganna is still coming, as is the 4x100 relay, 2 great finalists in shooting, Paolini won. 90% of countries will trade for that :d

My issue here is more that the three shido = ippon rule kinda sucks. I’m watching judo because I want to see throws, not people getting baited into taking shidos.

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
