Zamotaev unfortunately lost by RSC, he had this injury from the previous fight. Disastrous tournament for Ukraine, I really doubt if we are able to win 1 quota

Relax man. You still have Anastasia Kovalchuk and Yurii Zakhareiev who were the boxers who were likely to win a quota in the first place. Sure the draw had opened up for Zamotayev with Molina losing and you have had a couple of dissapointing loses but this tournament is still young. If you end up with 2 quotas thats a good result and how the rest of it went doesn't matter that much. (Zakhareiev does still has a very tough path of course)

Margin of defeat?

I don't know - result was taken from Kazakh federation instagram page and according to google translate, it was all about defending country's honour. :d

Men's 92Kg :SVK Joseph Kostur def. :COL Marlon Hurtado Colorado

Kostur has apparently suffered a cut above his eye and therefore will need to be assessed by medics before his next bout.

    • Goggia hasn't been herself in the downhill for four years and her losses on the flat splits are enormous. Nothing has changed in another season. Now Vonn has also arrived, in great form... Brignone was probably Italy's best chance for gold in the giant slalom, but because of that damn injury, it's unclear whether she'll even start. In the giant slalom Brignone in last year's form, was much better than Robinson or Scheib, while Vonn and Schiffrin dominate elsewhere. The last time Goggia was in top form was at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season, before her crash in Cortina. In that time, she excelled on every track and split and now she's almost 1 second behind the Austrians on the flat sections...
    • But unfortunettly they'll probably capture it, just like Bakhmut, etc. Unfortunately, for the past three years, the Rus' have been slowly advancing, but they are gaining these territories—mainly in Donbas. The question is, where will they be permanently stopped? Ukraine's problem is that the eastern part is relatively flat, with no high mountains or other geographical barriers- there's the Dnieper River, but Ukraine can't retreat that far west. This reminds me a bit of the fighting on the Eastern Front in 1944-1945, when the Germans defended themselves valiantly in what is now Poland, but kept retreating. There were good fortifications in former East Prussia, plus good defensive terrain, and the Russians advanced very slowly, but eventually captured what they wanted. Fortunately, Ukraine isn't fighting on two fronts like the Germans were back then- because I'm sure that if the Germans had fought on one: east front, they would have certainly stopped the Russians somewhere- sure not in Berlin :P   I generally enjoy World War II history. I recently watched some interesting fight of the German battle for Stalingrad in 1942. There were 3 large factories there and the Germans almost captured them all. They very nearly captured the city, and by September 1942, Hitler was practically certain it would fall.
    • I know you're joking, but that wouldn't even work because that day is the Super Bowl.  So NBC will only have coverage on the broadcast network until Noon ET and then will have a shortened primetime show and late night after the game.  Which means they'll have to condense Vonn in the downhill and the final day of the team figure skating event into that brodacast
    • Geez Men's Team Sprint Final extremely gravity-affected, fallers all over the place.   Catastrophic 2nd place for  behind Lord God Almighty.
    • Late change to the Olympic schedules - Womens' Downhill will now be a floodlit race starting at 22:00 CET 17:00 Eastern.
    • Just means Brigone will win gold at Utah 2034.
    • Russians claimed that they had captured Kupyansk several times.
    • The plan is to have 4 different marching locations (one for each cluster). Presumably they will show the stadium entrance, and cut to the tv feed with 4 cameras, show the other 3 locations.
    • They were counted sepatately in all the sports during Olympic qualifications. So right now they are to gran 2 male and 2 female quotas.   How potential reallocation will work if the quotas approved by FIS will not be confirmed by the IOC? I really do not know ))
