And this from the country that has just given us beach korfball!

Oh I really don't know the value of that neither, don't get me wrong :d

It is, at least, somewhat different (like a whole different surface), more so than regular speed climbing vs regular but double speed climbing, but until preparing myself for these Games I had no idea it even existed and I certainly wouldn't miss it if it weren't here :p

Huh, I'll be damned. Looking at the powerlifting and apparently the chief referee is the brother of my former 'product owner' (for those aware of the scrum/agile way of working thingy, for the rest, basically just a colleague but with a fancy name) :yikes:

I knew he, much like my former product owner himself, was a good powerlifter, but I had no idea he was doing this now :p

Oh wow, absolute heartbreak for :BOL Angelica Barrios in the racquetball semi-final. She was two points away from beating the six-time world champion from Mexico, then slipped and injured her foot, screaming out in pain. Tried to play on after treatment, but after like one and a half more points (obviously losing them), she just could not move around anymore and just broke down in tears

Unsurprisingly :BOL then also withdrew from the mixed doubles quarterfinals, where she would play with men's finalist Conrrado Moscoso.

Wow, this Lyonnaise progressive is different than I thought :yikes:

I was expecting like two 65-year olds casually rolling a ball to a precise spot, but this is rather active and also super easy to watch :d

Not entirely sure about from how far they have to throw though, since they very clearly throw the ball after being over the line.

Bah!  Flying disk on a weather break!  Seems a bit soft to me.

Wet disc = no fun. Trust me on this one.

That said, rain games are cool

Internationnaly, there is only one federation running both 'sports', but in France, at least, there are two different differations.

I believe they also oversee the "raffa" discipline, which I would assume comes from :ITA

Lyonnaise is truly the ugliest and most stupid boules speciality, just a hit and run.

Not gonna lie, I actually enjoyed watching the finals. I need to watch the pétanque finals, but I'd probably pick Lyonnaise as my personal favorite of the boules disciplines.

Precision shooting is kind of interesting too. I caught a little bit of it during the 2023 SEA Games.
