:GBR actually have an active national volleyball team. Who knew!!

This month, the men's and women's Under 22 squads have been in action in the qualifying for the 2026 European Championships.

For the men, they were up against pretty tough opposition and would ultimately lose all three of their qualifying matches - :ITA (11-25 / 20-25 / 15-25), :DEN (16-25 / 21-25 / 13-25), and :UKR (20-25 / 26-24 / 14-25 / 15-25)

For the women, they too didn't make it out of the group stages but that's hardly surprising given they hadn't spent that much time together as a team. They lost out against :SVK (18-25 / 16-25 / 8-25) and :POL (16-25 / 14-25 / 9-25) but were awarded a walkover win over :ISR

and one team sport (football) that GB competes in high level unfortunately it is represented by different associations ...

To be fair, the women's team have been eligible to qualify since 2012 - they were pretty much screwed by UEFA when they introduced the Nations League as the qualifying route instead of the usual World Cup.

As for the men, there have been suggestions that we could field a team in LA - certainly believe that the BOA want that to happen - but as you say, the home nations continue to be a stumbling block. That being said, traditionally it has been the Scottish FA who have been the most vocal opponent but this time around it could be Wales who are doing more of the push back.

:GBR involvement in the World Surf Games comes to an end.

Patrick Langdon-Dark bowed out in Repechage yesterday and he was followed by Arran Strong who came 3rd in his heat in Repechage 5 earlier today.

Charlotte Mulley was the best of the Brits for the women but she exits the competition in Repechage 6.

GBR are reigning European champions, and the coming force in WOMEN'S European flag football. They are not all that close among the men,

In Softball GB are already in the ballpark but it is baseball, bizarrely, where GB seem to be making strides - most might have predicted basketball to kick on rather than baseball...

And STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL reigning and defending champions of europe beating austria, who rocked them at the world games competition a couple of months back,

The men finished 4th

Kind of. But remember that a Brazilian and a Portuguese both have a British qualification
