I'd have jumped out of the class window if we had been forced to undergo psychology and even worse, philosophy classes at school. Yuck.

I'm all in favour of more native history though, especially in a time where more and more and more of the kids in school don't get any 'native history' (meaning, from the country they're living in) from home, since they're from different places.

I loved AP psychology at my high school, most kids did. Psychology is very popular among students in the US. I would have loved to have taken a Philosophy class, though my religious classes essentially were philosophical classes in high school.

Apparently the Netherlands has one naturalized native from both Micronesia and Nauru :d Zero from the Pitcairn Islands, which is probably a good thing considering the abuse scandal over there. I'm quite surprised to see six people from the British Indian Ocean Territory and even eight (!) total from Ascension, Saint-Helena and Tristan da Cunha :yikes:

Well, Tusk used to be a Polish PM for about 7 years, so....

Fun little video about :BHU

I have read that researchers think that the people of Bhutan are some of the happiest, but it’s inconclusive like the guy says in the video. I’d love to visit Nepal and Bhutan though. Bhutan is arguably one of the most, if not the most, successful socialist countries in history. I do know that the government is a bit more suppressive than it seems in the video, and like every country their are some serious social problems behind the scene. The story of Bhutan’s history, politics, and economy is very interesting and worth looking up if you have time.

Yeah, none of these will be adorning my tree this year. How did Amazon even allow these to be sold :yikes:

New Teddy Bears World Record last night in Hershey, exactly 45 650 plushies were thrown on the ice after the local AHL team Hershey bears scored its first goal of the game at the 9th minute.

just for the report: The Slovak record :p is still from 2015 by HK Nitra

One of the best traditions in American professional sport. All the ready bears are taken to children’s hospitals as Christmas gifts for the children there. I also the Michigan (college) American Football tradition where after the 1st Q, everyone turns and waves to the children’s hospital (which overlooks the stadium).

    • They may have to put Russia in the Calgary group to avoid any political issue in Czechia.   A group with Canada, Russia and the United States would be deadly. I'd feel sorry for the 4th team
    • Well, I'm sad and happy at the same time. I'm happy because I expected it and we're not taking a spot away from a country that deserved it more.   But, we used to be one of the leading basketball countries, we were world champions and Olympic runners-up. Now we can't even qualify for a world tournament anymore, always losing to teams like Puerto Rico, a declining Serbia, an ascending Germany, and now being left out by the hardworking Czech Republic and Mali...   The worst part is that there won't be any improvement. Nobody cares about losers, nobody cares about women's basketball here. The national league is terrible, there are no young players, the national federation doesn't care...

    • Well, let be real for a second here and not fly on parallel universe  the ONLY chance for Slovakia to take part to this is when Russia will not be invited.    And Seriously, I would not bet a single leaky penny on that to happen.   Imagine a tournament run by the most greedy businessemen on earth NHL lords, with the right to invite whoever they want and make whatever rules they want... and not inviting to their own tourney Russia who has more than 50 NHL stars in the league right now including the likes of Kaprizov, Vasilevskiy, Kucherov, Demidov, Malkin or Shestorkin.  Come on ! Not gonna happen, Russians will be there and will make the semis where they will lose to one of the 2 North-Americans before the Canada-USA scripted final.   Do not fall into the trap, this is all just for money.   And since Germany is a bigger and obviously more interesting market than us and have the superstars Drai and Stutzle to bring they will be picked as 8th over Slovakia on any day. Switzerland being the clear seventh for their bigger amount of NHLers is obviously as well.
