Ice Hockey Discussion | Qualification to Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

After the end of the 2nd period, germany v hungary 1-1. I made some mathematics. France couldn't finish top 2 of each group in one way. If Hungary beat Germany on Overtime, germany will have 7 points and Hungary 8 points. So France with 6 points will not finish top 2 of each group, Hungary will be qualified and Germany will be on top 2 of each group. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Yep. The only results you do not want

HUN beating Germany in OT/PSO

This only outcome will qualify both of them (well, Germany will have to wait for the Russian official ban ofc)

Goal for Hungary in the last second?

Nein! Germany is qualified! France is still top 2!
