I think the qualifiers in rhythmic gymnastics are:

Individuals
2: :USA:BRA:CAN:MEX:ARG:COL
1: :CHI:VEN:CUB:PUR

Groups:
:BRA:MEX:USA:VEN:CUB:CHI

Apparently UPAG has changed the qualification tournament to next year's event...without any warning nothing. Could explain why the USA didn't send any women in trampoline.

This has never happened before! The Pan Am Championships have never been staged on the same year of the Pan American Games.

Seriously, what's the point? Why do this at all? UPAG/PAGU is absolutely clueless...

Also, I may have out scooped @intoronto on Pan Am news for once. I was told by the IRF President that racquetball was added to the sports program, and it appears on the schedule above.

Some new tidbits:

-Bowling cut to 48 quotas + 2 from Cali 2021 (down from 56 in Toronto and 64 in Lima/Guadalajara)

-Fencing stays the same + Cali qualifiers, qualifier is at the Pan Am Championships this year in Asuncion

-Water skiing stays the same in terms of quotas (48)

-Judo has the same quotas, but this time a team event will also be contested + Cali qualifiers. 5 events (4 in the last two editions) will be used to rank athletes, with the top 9 qualifying per weight category, + 1 for host.

-Wrestling has same quotas + 6 wild cards, half qualify from 2022 Pan ams and the rest at 2023.

-Racquetball's quota cut from 60 to 48, looks like max 2 athletes per gender per NOC (cut from 4)

-Rugby: No automatic qualification for Argentina, Canada and the USA. North American qualifier will be in November 2022.

-Squash: Quotas cut to 48. No surprise here, the sports added in December of 2020 had their quotas slashed, 8 teams per gender qualify to compete in all 7 events, no individual qualification. It would be funny if 5+ countries were unique in the men's and women's, because then no mixed doubles can be held.

-Archery is complicated

@Olympian1010this is old news :p we even had the QS a few months back.

Some qualification news:

MP: 33 per gender, including the winner of Cali 2021. THe 2022 Pan Am Championships in October will allocate all the remaining quotas.

Baseball: Chile/Colombia (Cali 2021 winner) qualified. The winner of the South American Championships, starting in 3 days will qualify, along with the 2023 CAC winners. The top 4 in the "Americas Series" next year will also qualify.

Womenʻs Football qualification has ended. Now that the Pan American Games are after the Womenʻs World Cup, there shouldnʻt be teams dropping out (:CRC :JAM :USA), but things could change. As of right now, though, this would be the field:

Host: :CHI

CONCACAF: :CRC :JAM :USA (4th team is selected by CONCACAF. Possible choices: :CAN :HAI :PAN )

CONMEBOL: :ARG :PAR :VEN

    • Looking at last season's 1st World Cup, it's worse for now and it should be the other way around. Bosa out of shape, Trentini weak. Both will drop to a lower group. It's similar to skeleton, i.e. regression instead of progress.
    • In general, our picture for a little over 1 year until the home games looks like this:     - the women's sector is still based on one Lollo, who is 3 years older than 2022, - the women's and men's sprint sector is based on one Bosa and possibly the young Pergher (0% possobility for medal in 2026), - Ghiotto has made a lot of progress and that is a big plus. He could result to give our even 3 medals, including 1/2 gold. Our team's performance also depends to a large extent on Ghiotto's form, - the rest of the men's team is basically unchanged. There is Giovannoni in the mass start, there is Malfatti in the longer distances, but they are not competitors on the podium of a major event.   I will repeat myself: if Ghiotto continues to make such progress, we will probably win 3 medals, 2 of which gold and it will be a success. If something doesn`t work out, an injury, illness, etc. (we know from Vitozzi that this can happen to anyone), then it could be very bad. By the way, this also applies to other sports: the above-mentioned Vitozzi in biathlon, Goggia in downhill, Brignone in giant slalom, etc.
    • With the World Cup season in most of the winter sports about to begin and qualification in some sports already underway, I think it's about time for this thread.    Template    ... • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.
    • Yup, actually they have just some juniors pairs in the dance event
    • In bed with the flu and few hours of sleep, but at least the insomnia will let me watch the first World Cup stage
