WBSC press release on the CAC games baseball tournament

https://www.wbscamericas.org/en/news/los-xxiv-juegos-centroamericanos-y-del-caribe-disputarn-cuatro-cupos-a-los-panamericanos

It says 4 teams will qualify for Santiago. This means the slot allocated to the WR has been moved to this tournament. It also means the USA cannot qualify.

23 nations qualified in taekwndo, including :HAI and :BOL each qualifying 2 athletes!

:TTO :SUR :ARU and :BAR did not qualify any athletes, and should receive one wildcard each, which will leave 4 wild cards open. I suspect one of those will go to :BRA Talisca Reis, defending silver medalist and second seed at the qualifiers, who missed out on qualification.

This is also the first time since qualification began (from 2011), :CAN fails to qualify a full team.

Take this with a grain of salt (the person I was speaking with was interesting to say the least), but those 4 countries received at least one wildcard and Talisca Reis DID NOT.

:ARU -58 kg

:SUR - 68 kg

:BAR - 80 kg

:VEN -+80 kg

:DOM :URU:ARG :HON received women's wildcards.

Person also said :GUA got a spot, so we are at 10. who knows at this point

Final karate qualifier is tomorrow.

:CAY and :HAI miss out in MAG :(

Actually only 11 teams were ranked according to the results system: https://consugisoft.com/artistica/resultados?c=Gam_-_Campeonato_Panamericano_De_Gimnasia_Art_stica_Medell_n_2023

which if I am understanding the qs correctly, would mean Cayman Islands and Haiti would qualify
