Well, Lithuania is in points yet again, this time thanks to Karol Dombrovski.

Although it's very sad that Vytautas Strolia had a disaster on the last shooting together with Rastorgujevs and mass start dream for Lithuania is now dead.

 i woudn t say two misses is a disaster but yeah two was too much

It was a disaster in biathlon terms, because it was both the 1st and the 5th shot.

Second shoot was also the 5th shot.

Technical mistakes that could have been avoided added more patience.

Honestly, why do people choose targets that dozens of people have already missed on?  It’s like going out of your way to walk through a minefield.  :raspberry:

Because not everyone is superstitious :p

Woah, got a little bit mindfucked when I looked up Karol Dombrovski's best result, the 18/19 individual in Pokljuka :lol:

TODAY ---> 18/19 Pokljuka

Fourcade 1st ---> Fourcade 1st

Landertinger 3rd ---> Eder 3rd

Fak 4th ---> Fak 4th

Samuelsson 10th ---> Samuelsson 9th

and fairly similar placements for Christian Gow, Ponsiluoma, Dombrovski, Leitner, JTB :d

OMG, I entered a loophole in time and space :lol:

Now I pressed on Domink Landertinger to see who was on the podium with him when he won a 3rd place in an individual and landed on the Olympic Games and the top 6 in Korea are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 10th today, just in a different order.

Damn Nordgren :d

Really unexpected, but I am super happy for him.  He was the forgotten one when Bailey, Burke and Doherty were the stars.  All for Americans were in the top 50.  I do not remember when that last happened.

Benny Weger with his best race in a long time.

 I think by the end, we will have 10 different nations who win medals.

Landertinger makes it 8 nations.  5 races left.  I think that Sweden in good for one.  Then either Ukraine, Switzerland or some flyer like Canada or Estonia.

Single mixed relay squads have been announced.

:NOR (Olsbu & JTB) and :ITA (Wierer & Hofer) in full gold medal mode.

:GER (Preuss & Lesser) and :FRA (Bescond & Jacquelin) will be menacing though.

:POL (Zuk & Nedza-Kubiniec) will be lucky to get a Top 12 finish IMO.

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
