Today, started my day off with Day 1 Finals of the Australia Olympic Swim Trials, then slept until the afternoon session of the European Athletics Championships. Now I’m watching game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals (Oilers v. Panthers)

As for the next few weeks, more of the above, Men’s/Women’s VNL matches, NBA Finals (Celtics v. Mavericks), ATP/WTA Rosemalen Grass Court Championships, NORCECA Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifier, more swimming/athletics (Mare Nostrum, WA Continental Tour Gold Turku/New York/Bydgoszcz, and US Olympic Trials for sure), Archery Team Olympic QualifierFIBA 3x3 Women’s Series (depends on which ones the Canadian Olympic squad are competing at), Olympic Qualifier Series Budapest

No Rowing World Cup, European Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifier, badminton, more tennis, golf, Copa America, Euros, or table tennis :(

  • 4 weeks later...

Lighter schedule for me before the Olympics begin, which means more time for Netflix :p

On tap for the next two weeks we have… Copa America, Euros, FIVB Elite16 Vienna, athletics meets, Wimbledon, more tennis meets, Men’s Volleyball Pre-Olympic Exhibitions, and Basketball Pre-Olympic Exhibitions.

Edit: Forgot about 3x3 and the Sport Climbing WCs

Have some free time. Any tips for the weekend heh ? 😉

Most European countries are running their age-group athletics champs this weekend.  Bound to be a few on YouTube.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
