Men's Ice Hockey IIHF Under 20 World Championship 2020

Recommended Posts

Just looked at the standings in group B.  Every team has played 2 games and has 1 win and 1 loss.  That's crazy

Status of a never relegated country at U20 remains unchanged

Finland won over Kazakhstan in Regulation Time, meaning

:SVK  survived even with this very weak 2000/01 class and will play next year again for the 26th consecutive year in the Top Division of the U20 age category.

Not the smartest move from :GER coach, to pull off the goalie, that empty-netter for 4-1 can really hurts them at the end in case of 3 teams tie for avoiding the relegation round

I knew this years edtion will be difficult for us, but this just exceeded all expectations  Such disastrous team we never had I believe, and I want to believe we will never have again

0 shots on goal at the 16th mnute of the game (and we even played 3 power plays) is something I never saw in a hockey match of this level.

Thanks god we survived, the goal achieved, now just try to not get astronomical blowouts in the last 2 matches and return quickly back home and let start the next years team :p

In Ostrava meanwhile, great effort of the hosts ! Extremely valuable Golden point from :CZE against :USA very likely secured the quarterfinals for the "Národní tím" and suddenly put huge pressure on Germany and Russia who will play tomorrow for avoiding the relegation round !

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
