I really wonder if getting her in for both the 400m free and the relay was the issue. Having to conserve energy for the relay may have had something to do with it. I was a bit concerned about the relay for Paris given the 7th place but like Oleksiak being back and Ruck being more on form should bring the Canadian team back in contention. That being said, don't know why she was chosen over Savard to swim in the final. When has she ever put up a good 100FR time? 7th should still be enough to qualify for Paris, but yeah we'll need Oleksiak and Smith [& Ruck] to step it up if we want to have a chance. Topicmaster1010 3,085 Posted July 24, 2023 Author #48 Share Posted July 24, 2023 Decent prelims session on day 2. Both Masse and Wilm easily qualified for the semis. Masse in particular looked the best she has all season so that's a good sign. I believe Angus and Finlin also had PB's in their events even though they didn't qualify for the next stage.
