Switzerland's relatively high success rate against Canada continues.

SUI have the strongest roster here, This year is probably their chance or never.

So now I understood why the refs regularly penalise our team for literally crap and BS every 3-4 minutes every match, whils Latvia can do whatever they want...

Rigged tournament at its pure finest...

Apparently this is a goal now...well, I guess nowhere in this planet (apart for Latvia this week) :dunno:

Absolute disgrace what the refs are doing to push Latvia during this whole tournament

So, only the second ever defeat from :KAZ in all history (The first one was even more painfull in Nagano 1998 btw... but today´s one was equally embarassing and incomprehensible, however once again, it was mainly because of fantastic performance from the Kazakh goaltender Andrei Shutov who had tonight the night of his life...stopping unbelievable 48 attempts !)

however as expected in this hockey crazy country, the players take it really hard from the slovak press tonight (and absolutely deservedly)

Katastrofa is basically the same in Italian (just change the K with C and the last A with E)...

tbh, I've seen more than 1 goal like this given also in the NHL...and not only this year.

I don't agree at all, but I understand the ratio: the Latvian forward is pushed into the net by the Kazakh defender (therefore, no goalie interference) and the puck was already directed toward the net (therefore, the goal stands even if the cage is being dislodged in the same action).

imho, in a case like this the goal shouldn't be given because the goalie is denied the chance to stop the puck not because of his own fault.

still, the defender pushing the forward into the net should automatically get a 2-min minor.

unfortunately, the rule is different and its current interpretation is even worse (according to both the NHL and IIHF rulebooks). :dunno:

it is still a little strange if we imagine it happened during a tournament where every minimal contact, sometimes even not a contact at all is condsidered as goaltender interference and is immediately penalized, and we all know that many goals were canceled due to "supposed" goalie intereference,. And suddenly tonight, while everyone was looking whether the KAZ goalie is healthy after this clear charging (ok he was pushed by the kazakh def, but no one will persuade me that Dzierkals did not know what he wanted to do, you can see how he put both his skates together at the moment he was pushed, clear sign of attacking the goali for me...), the referee out of nowhere shocked everyone with a verdict that it was a goal.

but, yeah let it be. Hopefully we will be able to form a strong team for the olympic qualifiers...because this week we lost the direct quota we were working hard for it last 3 years...
