:SWE Växjö Lakers HC are Swedish Champions! :champion:

For the fourth time, Växjö Lakers are Swedish champions

The Smålanders scored the first match ball at home via a 3-0 victory, of which the last two goals came in empty nets.

A key sequence in the gold match was when Emil Larmi threw himself straight and saved a direct shot with his right hand.

Skellefteå was beaten to win in Vidare Arena and the visitors started well.

Skellefteå was 12-3 in shots on goal in the first period, thanks in part to two power plays.

They put a lot of pucks on goal and had several chances.

Oscar Möller had the very best opportunity.

After a pass through the castle, the Skellefteå captain fired a direct shot, but as so many times before, Emil Larmi made a spectacular save.

The Växjö goalkeeper dropped his stick, threw himself like a soccer goalkeeper and saved the puck with the inside of the shot.

Växjö had three chances in five against four in the second period.

Although there was no goal in that form of play, it contributed to Växjö moving the game forward in the middle act.

With six seconds left until the break, Robert Rosén made it 1-0, after a delicious pass from Martin Lundberg.

Växjö then made a good third period and Skellefteå had few clear scoring chances.

Many Skellefteå shots were covered by Växjö players and as soon as the puck reached the goal, Emil Larmi stood in the way.

With just over three minutes left, Skellefteå took out the goalkeeper and then Victor Stjernborg was able to score 2-0 and Ludvig Nilsson then made it 3-0.

 Said about the match

- "Fantastic. A lovely bunch, lovely management staff. Great team to work with", said Växjö's head coach Jörgen Jönsson to C More.

- "I don't know what to say. I love these matches and how we play together", said Växjö goalkeeper Emil Larmi to C More.

- "It is our structure, our system. We know it has worked in the past and we are good at getting the group to fully buy into it. It was decisive today as well. Incredibly nice", said Växjö's Robert Rosén, who has participated in all four of Växjö's golds.

- "In this group, I think something happened before match seven against Luleå. Then we had a meeting and came together as a group. Then we have Emil Larmi in goal", said Martin Lundberg, who celebrated his fifth SM gold.

- "It feels terribly boring. We were determined to turn the series around. We did everything we could and it is only to congratulate Växjö Lakers", said Skellefteå's team captain Oscar Möller.

Quick facts recap

- Växjö took their fourth SM gold after 4-1 in matches. They have won in 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2023.

- Robert Rosén scored the match-deciding goal both when Växjö knocked out Luleå in the quarter-finals and Frölunda in the semi-finals. Now he scored the match-deciding 1-0 goal in Växjö's golden match.

- Martin Lundberg was responsible for the preparation for the lead goal and it was his second point in this final series.

- Emil Larmi kept his fourth shutout in the playoffs when he saved 20 shots.

- The best goal scorer of the playoffs is Oscar Möller (Skellefteå) with 7 goals.

- Emil Larmi (Växjö) was awarded as the playoffs' most valuable player, the Stefan Liv Memorial Trophy.
