Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe all of :ARG:CAN:CHI:USA have qualified for the OQT at the very least?

Yes, 2nd to 4th places go to OQT.

:CHI without the same luck of the men's competition, now losing in a shoot-out to :USA. Final vs favourite :ARG on saturday.

Pretty frustrating performance by the Canadian women here. Was expecting a leap forward, especially with a new coach (the one who won gold with the British women's field hockey team in Rio). Hopefully they can get their sh*t together for Olympic qualifiers.

I expected Canada in 4th place. In my books Chile was firmly in podium at home and USA has been looking improved this year with their LA 28 generation. They defeated Canada 3-0 twice in a friendly series just few weeks ago.

Interesting, do you think Chile would have been fourth if the games were elsewhere?

No, but playing at home made it certain. They are at their peak of performance right now after a strong showing at the last World Cup and many years under the same staff. May decrease the level from here on though.

I think USA will be a solid 2nd for some time, their team is very young.

Canada's a team that clearly peaked around 2019 with Lima performance + almost olympic qualification. We'll see how they keep going now.

    • Honestly, I think you guys have a much better chance of success here than we do. It's already difficult to maintain this sport, and with this ridiculous format this year, things have gotten even worse. Years and years participating in the elite and we haven't been able to evolve; it was just a waste.

    • Another weak result for our athletics team, which is typical; without Caio or Alisson, our chances of a medal in any high-level tournament are almost zero.   However, Juliana's result in the women's pole vault was a great 7th place. She is improving rapidly and still has a lot of room for growth.

    • some changes in the team and less importance to the sport, the two big teams until 2022/2023 ( and ) in south america started to decrease a lot and in the other hand the 3rd in South America () is growing a lot, is really impressive. We are currently the favourites for the LA2028 quota
