I've just noticed today that the somalian athlete for Marathon isn't in the world ranking anymore, he has not participated to a single event since August 2023

The IOC will find someone to run the 100m if it comes down to it. They are pretty big on ensuring participation for all nations.

 

The other option is for the tripartite committee to give one of the taekwondo quotas (women's -49kg or -57kg) to Somalia. With that said, taekwondo quotas are quite competitive, but their hand might be forced (kind of like with Liechtenstein).

We are down to 50 nations remaining.

 

I'll do some fun facts tomorrow.

 

The first one is, we still have three non-triparitite eligible nations remaining: :GHA :SRI :TKM

Less than 16 athletes combining the last 2 summer olympic games (and no counting team sports)
