Nicky Pryde 42 Posted April 3 #151 Share Posted April 3 I've just noticed today that the somalian athlete for Marathon isn't in the world ranking anymore, he has not participated to a single event since August 2023 https://worldathletics.org/world-rankings/marathon/men?regionType=countries®ion=som&page=1&rankDate=2024-04-02 https://worldathletics.org/athletes/somalia/khadar-basheer-youssuf-14875164 So except if I've forgot an other way to win a NOC, I think we can say that Somalia will not be represented... JoshMartini007 2,536 Posted April 3 Author #154 Share Posted April 3 The IOC will find someone to run the 100m if it comes down to it. They are pretty big on ensuring participation for all nations. The other option is for the tripartite committee to give one of the taekwondo quotas (women's -49kg or -57kg) to Somalia. With that said, taekwondo quotas are quite competitive, but their hand might be forced (kind of like with Liechtenstein).
Olympian1010 7,971 Posted April 7 #155 Share Posted April 7 should now have a representative in fencing I’ll be pretty happy if they can get additional quotas in archery, athletics, or any other sports. JoshMartini007 2,536 Posted April 8 Author #156 Share Posted April 8 We are down to 50 nations remaining. I'll do some fun facts tomorrow. The first one is, we still have three non-triparitite eligible nations remaining: Roamingrover86
