to be honest i expected all of them to be in the bottom,so i'm surprised one of them did pretty well, who knows we might have a good Lithuanian with polish roots biathlete in the future.

We did it ! We beat Finland in female ice hockey !  Well, yes ofc I meant Nela did it ! Lopušanová beat Finland :p

Team Lopušanová - Finland 4-2

and Team Lopušanová by this win Topped the preliminary Group ladies and Gentlemen.

She is just from another planet, probably even from another galaxy. In all my life I never witnessed such hockey talent at 14 years of age

ffs everyone aboard of the hype train ! choo-choo

:SVK Day 3 at EYOF 2023

. Shock in Spittal brought Slovakia its first and extremely unexpected medal (Still pending confirmation from the organizing committee though).

.In fact, :SVK Girls Ice Hockey team shocked the top favorite of the tournament the unbeaten :FIN by a score of 4-2 (Obviously everything again directed, cooked and served by the Super talented phenom Nela Lopušanová) Tonight 2+2 in total already 11 points for 6 goals and 5 assists in 3 matches

According official IIHF rules we should be already the group winner, no matter of the last SUI-AUT match even if :SUI win in regulation Time

We would have 6 points just like FIN and SUI and in the mini-table counting only games between those three teams

we are 3 points and score 7-6

FIN is 3 points and score 4-4 and thus should finish 2nd and play for Bronze

SUI would be in that case at 3 points and score 4-5 and finish 3rd in the group...

BUT, we will have to wait for the confirmation from Organizing committee, the organizers have yet to clarify points in the technical manual, which is vaguely written.

. Slovak Boys Ice Hockey Team in other hand ended the complete flop in the preliminary round today by another brutal defeat, this time from :GER in a match without defence 5-7. We were leading 3-1 but a nightmarish 2nd period changed the script of this match.

.The Boys finished the group pointless and will play only for 5th Place...

.Among the rest there not so much to mention, apart the 6th place of the Short-Track Mixed Relay (2nd in Final-B) led by Lea Popovičová once again (Photo 1)

.Adam Nováček (Photo 2) in Boys Slalom with BIB 33 finished at respectable 17th position as the best of our quartet

.Michal Adamov in great 13th and Alžbeta Garguláková (Photo 3) in 15th places were our best todays Biathlon results in the sprints

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
