Next year both riders will finish behind Kenny ...

We will see, there are many guys in the mix (Kenny, the 2 dutch guys, Bötticher, Carlin). I am starting to think that the Netherlands might have a serious shot at winning 2-3 golds in Tokyo. I think at this point everyone knows to not take results at world championships seriously, but based on what i heard from the german federation for example after the last olympics i think that other nations learned their lesson and will step up at the olympics. Maybe the fact that GB has decreased the funding will also have an effect.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I think the Olympics were a year too early for Bos, but I seem to remember he was definitely world class before Athens. Sure, not as dominant as Lavreysen and Hoogland now, true :p

How many sprinters (team sprint, individual sprint, keirin) can a nation send to the Olympics?

.

3 if they qualified in team sprint. From those three they can pick 2 for individual events.

Meh, wouldn't wanna be the coach who has to pick the names.

Lavreysen, Hoogland, Büchli, Van 't Hoenderdaal, Van den Berg and Bos could all be part of a gold medal winning team sprint team..I'd go for the first three if I had to choose, but damn :p

    • Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
    • That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
    • Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.
    • Some sports have qualification systems   3x3 basketball (wheelchair) Para-cycling Powerlifting Weightlifting
    • In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
    • Whose decision was this, Team Canada's or the Organising committes?
