Canada is getting eaten alive by France in the first half of their Rugby 7s match. They might not even make it out of pools.

beat Canada 31-0 in Rugby 7s. That score honestly flatters Canada.

 

There is a very good chance Canada won't even make the quarterfinals, which at this point would feel like a mercy killing. If Canada makes it to the QF they are going to have to face either France or New Zealand.

What an amazing race by the women's eight. Canada was having a terrible regatta. The eight wasn't even looking that good in the heats and rep. Just incredible.

The Canadian W8+ tried the same tactic in Rio and it was a major flop. The CBC commentator mentioned that going out fast and praying it would stick was Canada's only real chance at a medal. Well, this time it worked.

WOW! What a race, that was awesome. I figured the Kiwis would surely catch them after they came out to such a hot start, but that strategy worked. Now onto Penny to try and make it 2.

 

In other news, Mason and Lovett are both out to hot starts in the high jump..
