I'm pretty interested to see how she does at the next two worlds, too.

Haha, yes of course.  I realized my comment sounded like I only tune in every 4 years (3?  5?).  But I mean that she may be the break out star in Paris.

So Canada not even trying to make the final with that line up, eh?

Edit: What I mean by that is that when I saw Canada's line up I assumed the other teams would put in their B stars too.  But the other countries put in many of their A players in the heats.  Canada............ did not.

I'm thinking Ruck and Masse just swam the race before, Liendo just a few minutes before that, want to keep Penny ready for the 100 tomorrow morning, Pickrem not up to her best this meet so far.  I'm sure they looked at how the other teams were finishing and decided to concentrate on other races.

Not sure it was mentioned here but ultimately the women's foil team finished 5th, which is the second best result ever for Canada in fencing. Jessica Guo is a really exciting prospect for LA and Brisbane (she's still going to be really young in Paris).

    • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.
