In terms of Olympic qualification, shame for Japan to lose a rider and drop out of Olympic qualification position. The Group F/G qualifier has gone from an opportunity for a weaker nation to :AUS and :JPN being big favourites. Of course, with eventing a surprise elimination can happen.

Obviously this helps Europe quite a bit as they now have 5 nations plus France qualified. The Group A/B qualifier will have :BEL and :ITA as favourites which opens up the Nations Cup quota (assuming :AUS :BRA :CAN :JPN :POL all get the job done). We could see qualification from  :AUT :ESP or :NED maybe even :DEN should they make a push.

Ros Canter was the drop score for GBR Team at the end of dressage phase and ends up being the top counter them at the end of show jumping. Never seen that happen before.

To make it worse, she misses out on the bronze medal because she went round the cross country course too quickly :(

Excellent to have three continents on the team podium.

First title for :GER Germany since 2014 WEG. It's been a while. :USA United States is back after a long drought and really a tough period. First global team medal since Athens 2004! :NZL New Zealand is back on podium for the first time since London 2012.

Meanwhile, Great Britain fails to win a team medal at the World for the first time since Kentucky 1978. :yikes:

Canada won back then. Their strategy, famously known to this day, was to go clear at all costs. They were incredibly slow in fact, but thanks to the course being an absolute riot, it was enough for a comfortable gold medal. :p

Wow.

Literal replay of Tryon 2018. German leader drops the last fence down to award the gold to Briton...

In fairness to Izzy, who was competing at her first ever major championship (European, World or Olympic), it wasn't awarded it was earned with a brilliant performance throughout. Amazingly close finish with seven riders covered by a fence. Ditto the team event with teams 2-4 within 0.6 pts of each other and less than 6 pts covering the top four. Another equestrian event where you end up almost jumping with the riders! 😊

P.S. Useless fact - She's the sixth British woman to win the world title after Mary Gordon-Watson, Lucinda Green, Virginia Leng, Zara Tindall and Ros Canter but we're still waiting for our first male individual winner.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
    • Ya but the replacement is Pat Bondi, a choice that is only better in so far as Pat Bondi isn't credibly accused of having had sex with multiple underaged girls.   Also, you might recognize this name: Pete Hoekstra has been nominated to be the US ambasador to Canada.
    • Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig
    • Skeleton Tour moves on to Yanqing  this weekend.  Asian Cup races tomorrow, then the World Cup on Saturday, and then possibly more Asian Cup next weekend before everyone moves over to Altenberg for the start of the full Skeleton / Bobsleigh tour again.
    • 2-1.   But it's good to have a great champion in the squad. I've been waiting for this my whole life. I wish we had such stars in every sport.
    • But he beat Mouat, who seems to be almost unbeatable
    • Argentina has a really solid lineup, especially if they have prepared seriously for this event. Of course they don't have a champion like we do, but in this format it is enough to win 1 match to play the decisive doubles.
    • Today we must to beat Argentina. It looks like Sinner will have to win all the singles and doubles for us to defend the title. So far, the 2nd and 3rd favorites before the tournament have already been eliminated: Esp and USA.
