Hard to get women doubles

I think that with current rankings of Martic in Vekic in singles competition we could easily have a women's doubles in Tokyo.

I think they can't. Jurak must be among top 10 in the doubles ranking list and she will not be that high for sure.

Martic and Vekic will probably qualify in singles competition.

In Rio, qualifyng system for doubles competition was that top 10 from doubles rankings qualify. Rest of the draw was made from players qualified in singles competition (they combined their rankings, for example Vekic is 46th and Martic is 51st - 46+51=97, and the doubles with lower sum of rankings qualified)

No chance for that to happen.

There are no qualifying system for mixed doubles. It will be decided at Olympic games who will compete in mixed doubles. It means that only athletes already qualified can apply to participate in mixed doubles. Then top 15 mixed doubles with lowest combined rankings will qualify (for example Pavic is No 1 in doubles competition and Konjuh is No 20 in singles competition, and their combined ranking is 21). If they could be among 15 doubles with lowest combined rankings they will qualify. We need one of our girls to be in top 20 in singles competition to qualify, I think. If we combine that ranking with ranking of Pavic in doubles competition or Cilic in singles competition we might qualify.

2 kvote Marić i Melsa

Macevanje: vrlo vrlo mali izgledi za Files, vjerovatno ne

Nogomet: po kvaliteti da, ali ostaje veliki upitnik jel to HNSu cilj. Žene naravno ne.

Gimnastika: tri kvote, Srbic, Ude i jedna žena

Rukomet: muški sigurno, žene ne

Judo: vjerovatno tri kvote. Tu je možda pet kandidata. Matić sigurno, a Druzeta, Kumric, Šutalo i Maranic  sa šansama.

Karate: Uf ovo je teško. Maksimalno 2 kvote, jedan Kvesic plus jedna žena

Veslanje: trenutno vidim samo 3 kvote Sinkovici i Martin. Par dobrih juniora, ali prerano za njih.

Jedrenje: 6 kvota Laseru, Finn, 49er i 49FX, možda Laser Radial

Streljastvo: trebale bi biti 4 sigurne kvote ( Pejcic, Gorsa, i dvoje u trapu). Ostali kandidati su Petanjak, Maricic, Perec, Gustin. Mislim da će biti 6 kvota

plivanje: 1 muška i 1 ženska kvota, možda druga muška

Stolni tenis: mislim da će muška ekipa proc kvalifikacije plus jedna žena

Tenis: 6-8, već ste pisali, Čilić i Coric, Vekic i Martic plus još dvojica za dubl. Možda Fett .

Ostaje problem neigranja za repku kod većine.

Vaterpolo: muški sigurni, žene ne

Dizanje utega: jedna kvota, vjerovatno Music.

Sojat pala na dopingu.

Hrvanje: 2-3 kvote. Kandidati Lizatovic, Starčević, Ettlinger, Huklek

Taekwondo: trebale bi biti barem 3 kvote,

Tomić, Jelić i Kanaet.

A moglo bi biti i pet ili 6. Još u igri Brečić, Glasnović, Vuletić i Radoš.

I to je to. U drugim sportovima nemamo nikakvih izgleda.

Znaci oko 100 bez nogometa ali sa košarkašima.

    • Who would have guessed, that our first men's podium of the season won't be from either Yankov or Zamfirov, but from Alexander Krashniak   This pretty much solidifies our men's team as the third strongest in the parallel events after  and  . And there are a couple of top youngsters coming up, so the potential is big for the next 5-6 years.   Too bad this progress is only limited to the parallel. Snowboard cross is again dead after Zhekova retired, while the other "techinical" snowboard disciplines have always been non-existent here..

    • This suggestion has been implemented. If you open the forum's Badminton section, you will get a block with Badminton current and upcoming events: https://totallympics.com/forums/forum/21-badminton/   I will start implementing this also for other forums in the next days. Also this can be implented in the Qualification Tracker pages, with events of that single sport displaying in the respective sport's sections.   EDIT: testing with a Winter Sport event, which currently has some events in progress and some more starting in the next days: Alpine Skiing section
    • So qualification isn't done, and the last few spots are very close with essentially one more race to go.   On the 6th and 7th Canada entered 6 racers in the lower tier North American cup races in Lake Placid. On the 11th there was races again in Lake Placid, Canada only entered 2 (articles say withdrew 4, start list on the 10th says 2 registered, whatever).  If the total amount entered was above 20 then the ranking points for first start at 120 and go down incrementally, with only 2 Canadians entered there were 19 competitors so points for first only start at 90.    The USA only has a shot at qualifying 2 sleds at this point, and Uhlaender appears to have had a shot at catching up to 2nd best among the americans. She came 1st, those 30 points really cost her if that is how the USA nominates their team.   The best 17 countries get one sled, based on how their top competitor is ranked.  is in 13th with 498 points,  is in 14th with 480,  15th 475,  16th 468,  17th 457,  18th 456 and no one else has the ability to gain enough points.  could have received 27 more points,  19 more,  21 more. So a big deal for them, and not appearing in the stories.   The accusation is that Canada did it for their own gain, to protect Channell's chance of qualifying: the 6 countries with the highest ranked 2nd best slider get a 2nd quota.  Channell holds the last spot at 512,  Erlacher is next at 484. Both only race at the World Cup level. However, the next best after that is  Simmchen at 391, who did race in Lake Placid and misses out on 25 points. Both her and her teammate would have to pass both Channell and Erlacher in the rankings for them to achieve a 2nd quota. A miraculous outcome, but that is what Uhlaender is accusing the Canadians of being afraid of. Could be, I don't think so but who knows.
    • I see, wasn't sure if they had internal trials like Canada had in the past. So Uhlaender will receive 84 points, more possibly if she races again, and Ro has one more race. So very understandable why she would be upset.
