Our 4-men bobsled team led by Dražen Silić is getting some good placements in North America. Finished 5th in Calgary today, and they also have 5th and 7th place from Whistler last week.

Maybe a chance for Olympic qualification. :pope:

kresimir crnkovic had a solid result in cross country in norway last weekend

he should be now below 100 fis points in distance

does it mean we get two quoatas in cross country?

Yes, as long as Dadić can stay within top 300 in the sprint.

It looks like we will be represented only in two sports at Olympic Games in Korea: Alpine and Cross Country Skiing.

There is still tiny chances in 4men bob, snowboard and biathlon, but very unlikely.

Silić crew finished 8th in Park City today, one more race there tomorrow. Now they have two 5th places, two 7th places and one 8th place... Looking back at 2014 (when we finished as 3rd reserve), our best results (at the same races) were two 9th places, and there were also quite a few outside of top 10 finishes.

Things are looking pretty good for the qualification. Netherlands will not accept their quota, Switzerland might use only one of their places, and if Russia doesn't get banned in bobsleigh/skeleton, then they won't get banned anywhere.

  • 2 weeks later...

Situation is looking pretty good for our bobsled team.

Seven best results will count for the IBSF qualification rankings. All racing has been done for 2017, and in New Year there are just two weeks of racing (2xWC, 3xEC and 2xNAC races) before the period is over. So this means that top 4 current best results are guaranteed to count, as none of the teams will be able to compete in more than 3 of the remaining races.

Top 4 results for our team are 5th, 5th, 7th and 7th. They also have useful 8th and 9th places "on the bench". 18th place is currently their 7th best result, but hopefully they'll improve it after New Years.

Some of our direct qualification rivals already have to count some 17th/18th places in Continental Cup though.
