Two good races today at the FourcadeFest, well worth watching, even if the course is flatter than Dutch roadkill.

Maybe true, but it is a whole lot more beautiful!  Also, the US did pretty well.  I was just wishing that they would not get dead last.

Two more women have announced they are pregnant.  Both will miss the season, but return next year.

Anna Sola and Irina Leshchenko of the Belarus team will miss the upcoming season.

Belarus won't be competing in any championships anyways, they suspended alongside Russia.

I know.  I wonder when both Belarus and Russia are able to compete in IBU races again, what number of slots will they have.  Ukraine was able to retain their previous number.  Will Russia and Belarus be able to do the same?  It will be interesting to see how that side of things is resolved.

Word is Kazakhstan secretly approached Dzinara Alimbekava over a nationality change but she declined it. Her father comes from Kazakhstan and she was born there too.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
