First time in a long, long, long, long, long time I am looking forward to a women's 800m free at a major competition. That will be a barn burner.

There's also another Australian that went 8:10 today at their trials. The 800 free in general has been popping this year.

According to Devin, Summer is scratching the 200 free tomorrow.

So her World Championship lineup will be 400 free, 800 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM.

Summer said she would do a 6th event (most likely the 200 free) if there weren't semis for the 200m events. Once again backing the idea of scrapping the semis for 200m events!

Maybe she can get good at a couple sprint events

Penny Oleksiak has withdrawn from Worlds and is facing an anti-doping suspension due to whereabouts violations.

Yet the Chinese swimming team was allowed to compete in Paris with clear and proven drugs in their system. Funny how that works.
