They were foolish to prevent the Dutch candidate from standing on spurious grounds and even more foolish not to hold a vote after CAS found against them. It seems clear Kremlev would have won easily and simply gives the IOC ammunition if they are intent on removing boxing from the Olympics.

That's a bit harsh on weightlifting. They're also a good contender for the "most farcically corrupt sport of the year award"...

time to try something new, like Kickboxing (Full Contact and Point Fighting only, if not Full Contact only...Light Contact and Low Kick are senseless and should stay away from the global stage)...
