Not to worry, that Dutch result (Marvin van Heek 8th in the Val Gardena downhill) was a huge, huge fluke and influenced by crazy weather....which led our NOC to decide it was a 'non-representative result' and so his 8th place didn't count as the 'one top-8 in a World Cup' he needed to qualify for the Olympics

Second place for Rok Perko, not just his only podium, but also his only top-10 in 141 (!) World Cup starts :d

Oh I remember very well this race and that Steven Nyman´s win with BIB 39 :d this race was one of a kind :d

Even if the weather is pure madness Nyman puts down epic runs in Val Gardena, the dude is like he's living there or something :d

Former Olympic snowboard champion Nicolien Sauerbreij explaining on Eurosport that 'aggressive snow' doesn't mean the snow will actually come and attack you. Thank you for this insight, Nicolien.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
