Artur Kayumov from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl is banned for 13 matches after he completely lost his minds during the KHL game against Jokerit Helsinki two days ago. In the 48th minute firstly he almost killed the Jokerit defencer Jesper Jensen and then started to punch the referee

and it´s a supposed Chicago Blackhawks prospect ! Kayumov, the new Darwin award winner :champion:

Miserable shooting efficiency once again...This season it´s clearly our biggest issue. At least 3 clear goal chances missed, one to a half empty net from some 2 meters, but we still managed to shoot wide, then a Rssian attack a couple of seconds later ofc finished by their winning goal :wall: even in the last minute empty netter power play we threw away one huge chance...obviously this roster is far from the team that will play the WCh...but the lack of strikers we noticed in the Deutschland Cup team and in todays game is quite worrying for the future

to be honest, it was quite a boring match...

this Russia "2" is really a modest team, but SVK didn't do anything to put them under serious pressure, especially when the score was still tied...

by the way, I also noticed that SVK gave up too many stupid penalties...and this lack of discipline may hurt the team more than the poor shooting efficiency, as you just can't even try to build some chances if you spend most of the time killing pens...

meanwhile, the EHT match between FIN and CZE was quite entertaining, especially in the 3rd period, when CZE did comeback from a 0-3 hole to a 3-3 tie before the great Dominik Kubalik gave them the final victory at the shootouts (he first tied the lone Finnish score in the "regular" series of 5 GWS with the last shot and then won it with the 1st extra-GWS)...

as a fan of image.png.5235aeb7e7f5a9dd9df604ae434644ad.png Ambrì Piotta, I couldn't be happier, right now...:cheer::bounce::champion:

unfortunately, i couldn't watch the other EHT game, where Russia won (3-2) also at the shootouts against Sweden in Moscow...

it should have been a good one, too...

Sure, it´s not the strongest Russian squad ever, but I don´t think this team is so modest, almost the same roster won the Deutschland Cup last month, it´s still a team formed by young KHL players and potential Russian A team for next years.

But I do agree, that the match was quite boring, all our matches may looks like this now, this is the game play under Craig Ramsey. We focus more on the well organized defense, if you take a look on our matches since Ramsey became the coach, you´ll hardly find a game when our opponent scored against us more than 2-3 goals. also his biggest mark is our penalty killing. Last WCh for example SVK was the best team in PK stats, if I remember correctly we received only 1 goal during opponents power plays. the same in the Deutschland Cup, I was just amazed by our play during opponents PPs. Today (even if not in so impressive way I must admit) it was still again a 100% PK efficiency for us against Russia "B" even if they played, like you noticed, quite a lot of PPs.

looks any team we send to a international tournament, this is a thing they trains the most now,

The problem is really the offensive part. It´s very bad, we need a lot of chances to score a goal. We really need to finally find some real top scorers..this task will be the biggest challenge for Ramsey before the WCh.

    • Those hurt, especially not one but two countries that have never missed a single contest likely missing out now     Where did everyone go?   Edit: I see Slovenia is in, that's fantastic news! Brazil though...   I think I'm going to ask if @brunamoura wants to come up with a song, despite really not having lots of time for it due to training and work. With some luck, she can listen the playlist on Spotify during training or something and get a bit of a sense of which songs she likes. If that's acceptable for people of course, I can perfectly imagine people wouldn't be too happy with that since we literally share a household and it might be seen as a conflict of interest (although anyway I always only tell her my favourite songs after I sent my votes).
    • Announcement:   I'm going to extend the deadline for countries submission to Monday 30th September at 23:58 BST, with the voting now not opening to the public until Wednesday 2nd October at 23:58 BST. I felt this was necessary to do due to the lack of nations + the lack of some of the major players and not due to me failing to come up with an entry (@Vektor) that I will be posting after this announcement. This will be the last deadline that is moved, with the only dates potentially moving being the final dates.
    • looking at the  Junior WCH (U-20) results so far, seems like USA is gearing up. the target would be to challenge China in LA 2028 and snatch few gold medals here and there.   p.s: China is not participating in Junior WCH     I am wondering if we can see USA in good shape in Bahrain WCH too

    • SLOVENIA  Magnifico - Hir aj kam hir aj go     Robert Pešut, better known as Magnifico is one of most established Slovenian singers. He started his solo career more than 30 years ago.   Few weeks ago, he celebrated this jubilee with special concert in front of more than 20.000 people on special site in Ljubljana. Maybe does not seem a lot, but here there were not many concerts played with that crowd.   He is known for his special type of humour in his music and lyrics. Around 20 years ago he sold album Export Import, from which most known song is "Hir aj kam hir aj go", which was received well in other countries, especially in Italy.   Just another fact, Magnifico wrote two Eurovision songs, Sestre - Samo Ljubezen (Only Love) in 2002 and also for Montenegrin performer Rambo Amadeus (Euro Neuro).   He tried himself to perform at Eurovision, but with his still very well known "Silvija", ended 5th in EMA 1998 (Slovenia National Final).   SONG LYRICS
