Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 Medal Count

What are the odds of Australia finishing ahead of Canada in the medal table?

I wouldn't even be surprised at this point. Canada is having horrible, horrible Olympics so far.

Honestly I think Canada might end up with as few as three gold medals at this rate.

I think 4 golds is the ceiling for Australia, so Australia could do it if Canada wins less than 4 golds.

I don't know. Too many variables for Australia. Not very many chances anymore. They have a big chance today in the Skeleton. Other chances in Monobob and W Aerials for gold. But I'm pretty sure China will win the aerials. Can't see anymore than that. If they don't win the skeleton today you can rule that possibility out.

People keep assuming that and I don't know why. China has an ability to fail to win aerials at the Olympics that is so baffling you have to wonder if there is some sort of curse.

I think it's got to the point where this curse is going to be broken sooner rather than later and what better way to do it is at home. It has to happen now right? Mind due hometown pressure can be overbearing.

The easiest gold medal for China to win across all sports, on paper, was the aerials team event and they managed to mess it up so ya know. I don't have a lot of faith, which I'm sad about because I'd actually like Xu Mengtao to finally get a gold medal.

Probably the last time Germany led the medal table, Norway should win 2-3 golds tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted.

    • But it seems to us that Norway wasn't as strong in Lillehammer 1994 as it was later? And not just in women's events. Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing. I remember in the 1990s, Italy's biggest rivals, Belmondo and di Centa, were Russia, when Norway somewhere further back and only in the classic style. Bente Martinsen- Skari, this is their first really strong girl in cross country, just about 2000, just like Liv Grete Skielbreid- Pioree in women`s biathlon at similar times.   Do you think, that is there any hope that thanks to the popularity of Haaland and football in general in Norway in recent years, winter sports such as biathlon or cross-country skiing will lose a little bit, becouse that?

    • This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
