Is there some way to join it? Should I send my CV with some examples of my work in MS Excel to you or Wanderer?

The usual process for applicants would be to complete three very demanding tasks. They will test your mental and physical strength. You will likely scream, cry and question your own existence. However, because the prediction group could really need some new members, you just have to send a PM to its members and write you want to join. :) The very small prediction group, which I think only consist of me and Wanderer, would really like some new members for 2020. 2020 is an Olympic year which means many prediction and betting contests for Tokyo 2020 will have to be run at the same time. Therefore, the prediction group would like some new members who could help run some of the prediction contests in 2020.

As 2019 is coming to an end and 2020 is about to start, it would be a fitting time to look back at the year 2019 in Totallympics Prediction Contest and what the 2020 Totallympics Prediction Contest season brings.

2019 was a busy year for the participants in Totallympics Prediction Contest with many world and continental championships. Totallympics Prediction Group would like to thank all users who have shown their interest in the many prediction contests this year. We can also annnounce the final general standing of the 2019 Totallympics Prediction Contest season will be published between Christmas and New Year.

2020 is a special year for almost all users here on Totallympics, as it's an Olympic year. An Olympic year also means many prediction and betting contests for Tokyo 2020, so July and August are going to be two active months for the Totallympics Prediction Contest participants and the Prediction Group. On that matter, the Prediction Group hopes to recruit a couple more members to its group in 2020. If you have an interest to join, send a PM to me and Wanderer. If you have good experience working with Excel, it would be a big plus, as we want to improve our current spreadsheets. If you are person with many ideas for prediction or other contests, you are very welcome to send a PM, as we could probably need a person like you.

A new year often marks a time of changes. The year 2020 in Totallympics Prediction Contest will see some changes. As many of you have noticed, it's me, Wumo, who have been writing this recap and update from the Prediction Group. @Wanderer has decided to step down from his position as Totallympics Prediction Manager on regular basis. I think it would be best @Wanderer explains the reason for his decision himself. @Wanderer will still be an active member of the Prediction Group, as his experience with running prediction contests is a big asset for the group.

As we are still not certain how many members the Prediction Group will have in 2020, the Prediction Group has decided to reduce the number of prediction contests to maximum 1 per month. However, if a member of the Prediction Group, beside me, has the time to run a prediction contest, it could be possible we would have 2 contests in a month. But the usual procedure would be 1 contest per month. Of course prediction contests for Tokyo 2020 will be an exception to the forementioned.

As a new initiative, the Prediction Group will try its best to get the users here on Totallympics more involved in the selection process. Every month the users will vote for the prediction contest in the upcoming month. The Prediction Group will create a poll every month in the Totallympics Prediction Contests section. Users will have a fixed number of votes depending on the amount of suggested events for the month. If there are two suggested events in January, users will have 2 votes. In case of three events, users will have 2 votes. Four events then 3 votes per user and so forth. Users are not forced to use all of their votes. They can choose to vote for one or no event. The event with most votes in the poll that month will have a prediction contest the upcoming month. Usually a poll ends the last day of the month. So the poll for the prediction contest in February will end January 31st. In case an event happens in the first week of a month, the poll will close at an early time in the previous month. So with February it could be January 24th the poll would close.

Users can suggest events which are not included on the current list. Users must submit their suggestions in the Totallympics Discussion thread no later than the 12th in a month to have them in a poll. Example: Your suggested event is in May. You must submit your suggested event before April 13th. The deadline would be April 12th, 23:59 (GMT).

Feel free to already suggest any prediction or betting contest you want to have for Tokyo 2020.

The list above with suggested events will be in the first post of the Calendar, Suggested Events & General Standings 2020 thread when it opens. The list will be updated with users' suggestions as they come.

Users now also have an opportunity to propose changes of the point systems or anything related to the prediction contests. It could be highering or lowering the basic number of points in the different team prediction contests? More or less bonus point systems? Different point system for medallists? Or what ever comes to your mind. As long as it has to do with Totallympics Prediction Contests, you are welcome to suggest and discuss it for the next couple of weeks.

This was a rather long and informative post. I hope you have understood most of it. If not all, just write your questions down below and I will try to answer them.

That's all from me,

Wumo
