Brazil announced its Judo team. Mostly new names that have never participated in the Pan Am Games, since others will focus on the World Championship. There are a few exceptions as Olympic medalists Rafaela Silva, Mayra Aguiar and Rafael Silva will go to Lima (none of them won a Pan Am gold before, and that might be their last chance).

Spoiler

Renan Torres (60kg)

Daniel Cargnin (66kg)

Jeferson Santos Jr (73kg)

Eduardo Yudy Santos (81kg)

Rafael Macedo (90kg)

I wonder what the pots were?

People who could beat Peru, People who couldn’t beat Peru, and Peru.

I don't know, but I guess Peru was in the first pot for being host? Maybe in other team sports too.

That's usually what happens. Which is why we have Brazil and the United States together. Still don't know how Canada and Colombia ended up in the same group since they are the weakest teams in terms of World Rankings

    • Iˇve seen many weak teams in my life of hockey fan, plenty of weak groups, but this one is truly extreme.   They´re basically still kids, so I won´t criticize or insult them behind my keyboards, but it´s really terribly sad to see that we can produce a fantastic generation one year and the next year a group with absolutely zero hockey IQ, who don´t even master the basic elementary hockey elements like puck control.   Leading by 2 goals 4 minutes to go having a 5 minute major power-play and still not win it, that is something new in the hockey history books. At least I do not remember seeing anything like this in my life
