Why no Mannarino?

He has literally the worst clay court record of any ATP players (with at least 50 games) going back to at least 1990.

Even if he wanted to go he, frankly, shouldn’t be selected by his federation anyway.

Yes I think :POL (Swiatek/Hurkacz), :GER (Siegemund/Zverev) will be the main favourites for the medals but also :GRE (Sakkari/Tsitsipas) as well.

We do not know about other teams, for example :ITA (Paolini/Sinner), or :ESP (Sorribes Tormo/Alcaraz), but I don't think these teams have ever played together and probably the men might not want to play mixed in addition to singles and men's doubles? Both of them are already injury prone as it is.

As you said though, really anyone in the mixed draw can win a medal as it is only 16 teams so all of them will be good teams.

I would say Granollers/Badosa is a more likely :ESP team, since Sorribes/Alcaraz already are going to play the two other events.

I understand for Alcaraz but why not Sorribes playing three events? It's not like she is a top player and expected to go deep the way Alcaraz is.

so happy for Varvara Gracheva who was a nationalized Russian Frenchwoman who qualified at the last minute, a great moment of emotion when she sang the Marseillaise with the audience at Roland Garros when she won her last match. The French public adopted it! it's nice

So is it for sure that Thiago Monteiro of Brazil qualifies? There are four Argentines in the top 56 ahead of Diaz Acosta, but I was wondering what if one of them is not eligible or does not want to go.  Would this mean the fourth Argentine spot goes to Acosta as a reallocated quota with Monteiro qualifying, or does Diaz Acosta retain his ITF spot?

There is extremely high turnout, and no pollster, politician, or newspaper had predicted it; now they’re all there throwing out data. No one has any idea why people voted, also because it was very technical and almost empty polling stations were expected. It will be interesting to understand whether this is a protest vote against the government or a protest vote against the judiciary.
