Men's Ice Hockey IIHF World Championship 2019

Recommended Posts

The AHL team Grand Rapids Griffins Patrik Rybár will join our team and very likely will be the #1 starting goalie for :SVK at the World Champs, he accepted the invitation after his team lost the AHL Calder Cup Play-Offs 1st round to Chicago Wolves and since Detroit Red Wings aren´t in the NHL Stanley Cup Play-Offs he became eligible to play in Košice/Bratislava

Surprisingly his nomination means also that the 3 goalies in our team are now, Rybár, Marek Čiliak and Denis Godla and the KHL Spartak Moscow goalie Július Hudáček was cut off from the team today.

NHLers in team :SVK so far:

Defencers: Andrej Sekera (Edmonton Oilers), Erik Černák (Tampa Bay Lightning), Christián Jaroš (Ottawa Senators), Martin Marinčin (Toronto Maple Leafs)

Forwards: Tomáš Tatár (Montreal Canadiens), Richard Pánik (Arizona Coyotes), Marko Daňo (Winnipeg Jets + AHL Manitoba Moose)

+ 2 players from AHL forward Marián Studenič (Binghampton Devils) and goaltender Patrik Rybár (Grand Rapids Griffins)

lol ...Agents Mulder and Scully, where are you ? this is a real X Files here

something maybe for the mystery thread :d

it is really scary. Will history be repeated?

1-)

2011

SVK U18 was relegated for the first time in history from Top Division

2019

SVK U18 was relegated for the second time in history from Top Division

2-)

2011

SVK U20 finished 8th at the World Championship Top Division

2019

SVK U20 finished 8th at the World Championship Top Division

3-)

2011

Slovakia host for the first time in history since the independence the Men´s Top Division World Championships

2019

Slovakia will host for the second time in history since the independence the Men´s Top Division World Championships

4-)

2011

For the first time in history one club won the Slovak Extraliga for the 3rd time in a row - HC Košice 2009/2010/2011

2019

For the second time in history one club won the Slovak Extraiga for the 3rd time in a row - HC05 Banská Bystrica 2017/2018/2019

5-)

2011

2019

You described that atmoshere very vividly. :) I felt it,just by reading.

Russian team will have almost every A-list name. Probably same with other teams.

No Bäckström in World Championships 2019. :(

Maybe Team Sweden will give the remaining places in the roster to players from KHL/SHL? I mean i'm sure you could use a guy like Linus Omark from Ufa.
