No tengo expectativas de ninguna mejora pero tampoco creo que sea ético exigirla en la actual situación económica. En definitiva el deporte de alto rendimiento (no así el social) no deja de ser una cuestión superflua en última instancia, más allá del prestigio que traiga al país.

    Lo que te digo se ve mas claro cuando comparás por medallas totales. De esas 25 menos, 14 se perdieron en esos dos deportes. Despues hubo solo caidas pequeñas en algunos otros.

    La verdad es que el "derrumbe" al final fue mas que nada en remo y natación, el resto hizo lo mismo de siempre.

    Pool A: I believe the top 3 should qualify. Pool B: same but India and NZ are inconsistent teams so you never know. There's a chance to see an upset from Japan or USA.

    Teams qualfied to OQTs (ordered by world ranking): We'll probably know who will play in each tournament tomorrow or during the next week but FIH rarely ever does real draws, they always use serpentine system for every competition so... one can try to deduct the line ups with it (one tournament with the teams ranked 1, 4, 5, etc, the other with 2, 3, 6, 7..).

    He's the son of an american basketball player. Born and raised in Argentina though.

    No, but playing at home made it certain. They are at their peak of performance right now after a strong showing at the last World Cup and many years under the same staff. May decrease the level from here on though. I think USA will be a solid 2nd for some time, their team is very young. Canada's a team that clearly peaked around 2019 with Lima performance + almost olympic qualification. We'll see how they keep going now.

    I expected Canada in 4th place. In my books Chile was firmly in podium at home and USA has been looking improved this year with their LA 28 generation. They defeated Canada 3-0 twice in a friendly series just few weeks ago.

    It is highly likely that will win more gold medals tomorrow than what they won in the previous two weeks as a whole. The bad part... nobody will pay ANY attention to it because of the stupid Copa Libertadores final. In fact, if Boca Juniors wins it, it's very likely that the only tv broadcaster of these games will focus their programming entirely on the celebrations and skip coverage of most of the finals here we'll have to watch through their shitty app.

    So happy Chile lost in the women's tournament so we don't have to put up with any noise and dodgy video referal decisions.... i'm sure it will be easier than this one despite the opponent is comparatively stronger.

    The women's has DNF for our girl in MR, no one finishing in 4th place somehow, and haven't computed any medals yet. I see some journalists reporting silver medal already but no images or video about it.
