Erik Logan has announced several things about the surfing events for this and the next year.

- WSL events posponed until June

- Oi Rio Pro scheduled to June, was postponed

- A new competition format to next year, called "Surf off"

- Surfers from CT who fail to qualify to the next year, they will be a new chance.

What about the Gold Coast qualification for the Championship Tour between Medina, Morais and Fioravanti?

I didn't get it, buddy.

Are you talking about that intern competition for the last wildcard?

As far as I know, this competition would be on the "Australian leg" (3 events). Between Wright and Fioravanti only. Likely, they have no idea what to do about it right now. I believe that after all of it, they will let both surfers participate at all events.

The stage in Gold Coast was cancelled. Bells, Margaret, G-Land and Saquarema were postponed.

Since this was double elimination, the Argentinian advanced to the gold medal match, while Perez “won” bronze.

it was :ARG Muniz (Repechage Round #5 - Heat #29 loser) who finished 4th...

:ARG Usuna instead advanced to the GM match after beating first :ARG Muniz and then in the following round :ESA Perez, who ended up in 3rd place (then :ARG Usuna lost to :PER Mesinas in the final and won the Silver medal, while the man from :PER won Gold)...

yeah, the double elimination format can be quite complicated at first sight...

A small victory for the ISA, but a rather inconclusive ruling from CAS.

    • Turkey doesn't have democracy right now either- the mayor of Istanbul is imprisoned for Erdogana (exactly like Erdogan once did in the same position). How will this end? Will the government change, just as Erdogan once did when he came to power by winning the 2002 elections? Erdogan probably no longer has real support in the country, but will he relinquish power? Turkey has always been a country that other Arab countries later emulated.
    • Iran's economy before the revolution was OK but not good.   M.R. Pahlavi wasn't the worst dictator in the world but still a dictator and in my book there is no good dictator, they are all bad. and yeah that 1953 coup or what we call 28th Mordad Coup played big role in the current mess. (ironically those responsible for that coup now consider themselves defending democracy) 50 years before that Iran had a revolution called "Constitutional Revolution" to limit the king's (Shah) power massively and creating the parliament, that coup was essentially the end of that era, completely destroying the parliament and giving 100% power to the king.    if you rule a big country like Iran for something like 40 years, you start to believe you are the God himself, that was the problem with A. Khameneyi too.   btw at the time of revolution nobody knew he was dealing with cancer, that was revealed later.
    • Presumably if a bid is accepted for snow / ice sports, the other 'half' would be reopen for bid
    • So basically a Granada / Štrbské Pleso 2015 situation, or just straight up one without including other (snow or ice)?   I haven't seen the memo myself.
    • FISU has sent a note to member federations saying for the 2029 Winter Universiade, bids can be just for the snow events or Ice events, if interested parties decide to go that route.
    • The "Andinian Plan" is a very old conspiracy theory in this land, nothing new under the sun.
    • There was even an interesting fact: Pahlavi, as a youth, studied in Switzerland in the 1930s and demanded that students stand and bow to him when he entered the classroom, because that's what was done in IranThis shows that he was really outside from reality his entire life- raised to believe he was a god. I don't know if he ever went out without his protection in Tehran when he was in power in Iran for a long time.
    • The Shah was considered a servant of the West, and that's probably why people disliked him, because the economic situation in Iran was good at the time. Khomeini wasn't even in Iran at the time, only in Paris, I think. From what I have read, the Shah never had popular support and could have fallen in the 1950s, with only the USA and UK keeping him in power. However, the current regime seems to have more support than he does. The Shah was certainly outside from reality and had been so throughout his life + he also apparently had no charisma - in fact, he relied on other countries all the time - the USSR and the UK overthrew his father during II World War and later the UK and the USA. I once watched a documentary film about Shah Pahlavi- quite interesting. He was already terminally disease anyway; when he was overthrown, he would have died immediately.
