Jinzha 529 Posted March 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2022 The new 'Beach Pro Tour' started last week. The new world cup system replaces the old 1-4 start tournaments with all new Future, Challenge and Elite level tournaments. In other words, not much has changed but you now have to pay to watch the streams... I don't think many people on the forum follow beach volleyball. I'll try to keep track of some of the results here. Tlaxcala, Mexico Challenge tournament Women: 1. Barbara/Carol 2. Stam/Schoon 3. Elize Maia/Thamela Men: 1. Bryl/Losiak 2. Aravena/Droguett 3. Samoilovs/Smedins The Chilean pair is a big surprise to me, never heard of them before. Also really glad to see the Dutch pair Stam/Schoon continue their good form from last year, which was their breakout year. There was some big names missing this round still, who we might see again next week in the Rosarito, Mexico Elite tournament.

At least not in such a way that I'd pay for streams, I wonder how many people would actually do that in a relatively fringe sport like beach volleyball If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Jinzha 529 Posted March 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Rosarito, Mexico Elite Tournament Women: 1. Stam/Schoon 2. Kravcenoka/Graudina 3. Talita/Rebecca Men: 1. Cherif/Ahmed 2. Brouwer/Meeuwsen 3. Mol/Sorum Incredible result for the Dutch pair Stam/Schoon, I believe this is their first world tour win! Their bracket wasn't easy either, they beat Olympic silver medalists Clancy/Mariafe in pool phase and the arguably best pair Duda/Ana Patricia in quarterfinals. Hopefully this is their definitive breakthrough as an 'elite' pair. Good result by the veteran pair Brouwer/Meeuwsen as well. They're 32 and 34 by now and still competing in the absolute top of the field. Perusic/Schweiner 3. Luini/Penninga Another tournament, another podium for Stam/Schoon! Really spectacular start of their season so far. On the men's side the podiums have been different every tournament so far. Next stop: Doha, Qater Challenge Tournament 5-8 May

Jinzha 529 Posted May 22, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 22, 2022 Kusadasi, Turkey Challenge Tournament Women: 1. Kloth/Nuss 2. Clancy/Mariafe 3. Cannon/Sponcil Men: 1. Ahman/Hellvig 2. McHugh/Burnett 3. Wickler/Ehlers Very limited field this week compared to other challenge tournaments, most teams are likely preparing for the two elite tournaments coming up the next weeks. Still a very impressive win by the young Ahman/Hellvig, their first senior win after previously taking silver in the 2018 YOG and gold the U21 world championship.
